Guppy™ MAX
Heavy Duty Water Filled Flood Barrier

Guppy™ MAX Large-Scale Water Filled Flood Barrier is an advanced flood protection solution designed and engineered to provide MAXimum defense against flooding. The innovative 3-chamber structural and industrial design creates a solid trapezoidal shape when filled, allowing for MAXimum stability and flood mitigation.

Each Guppy™ MAX flood tube is 40” in diameter and 30ft long, providing flexible large-scale flood protection for any location.

Designed for heavy duty protection, this robust solution can be filled using a 2 1/2" fire hose, ensuring immediate readiness in flood emergencies.

Featuring a unique seaming flap, multiple units can be seamlessly connected to extend your flood barrier's length, providing comprehensive coverage tailored to your needs. Ideal for blocking and diverting water around perimeters, entryways, and crucial infrastructure.

The Guppy™ MAX water filled tube is reusable. Once a flood event is over, it can be drained carefully and put back in storage once completely dry for future use.

Supersized Flood Defense

Guppy MAX is designed to efficiently protect your property and assets from flood damage. It’s size and material allows for flexibility to conform to most surfaces, minimizing seepage. The built in extended seaming flap allows the units to be connected together to achieve your optimal length of protection.

Applications of Guppy MAX:

  • Cofferdams: Create a temporary watertight enclosure to facilitate construction or repairs in waterlogged areas.

  • Water Diversion Barriers: Efficiently divert water flow to protect critical infrastructure and maintain operational continuity.

  • Industrial Defense: Ensure complete flood protection for large industrial sites with customizable configurations to suit your needs.

  • Residential & Commercial Protection: Create a barrier around your home, office or building to block and divert water.

Connectable Tube Units

Deploy • Installation • Storage

Guppy MAX water filled tubes are rolled out in the desired location and filled with water utilizing a 2 1/2" fire hose.

We recommend being in close proximity to the water supply to fill as each unit holds 2,115 gallons of water.

Once the unit is filled, you will not be able to move the unit due to it’s weight, so please make sure the unit is in the proper location before filling.

Once the flood event is over, be sure to drain the tube carefully as to not flood an already saturated area with the water.

Before folding the unit back up, ensure that it is dry and free of water or debris. Store in a cool, dry place for future use.

Connecting Multiple Units

Each Guppy MAX tube has an extended seaming flap on one side of the unit. If you are deploying more than one unit, make sure that you have the correct ends abutting each other so you are able to connect the units properly when staging the product around your structure.

Use the integrated PVC ropes or tie-strings through the grommet holes to connect each unit securely together or fasten to the ground below using stakes.

Adding 90 Degree Corner Turns

Guppy Max is designed to be used in a straight run, or you can affix the Guppy MAX Corner Unit against each tube end to create a 90-degree turn.

The extended seaming flap on each side of the Corner Unit allows you to seamlessly connect adjacent MAX tube sections using integrated rope ties that are fastened and attached through the grommet holes on the seam strips of each Corner, to effectively and securely create an extended integrated perimeter section for full protection flexibility.

  • The Guppy MAX flood tube is made from a composite PVC Mesh fabric and constructed with thermal bonding construction.

  • Multiple units can be seamlessly connected using an integrated seaming flap that extends over the seam and connects to the adjacent Guppy Max section. The seam can be fastened to the adjacent section using rope run through the grommets of each section.

    • To deploy the GuppyMAX, you would need:

      • Water source: A reliable water source such as a hydrant or a high-capacity pump to fill the barrier.

      • Anchoring materials: Depending on the deployment site, you may need stakes or weighting to anchor the barrier securely.

      • Water pump: For draining the barrier after use (if not using gravity draining).

  • The Guppy MAX can typically be set up by a team of 2 people. The exact number may vary depending on the size of the barrier and site conditions.

  • Open the drain valve on the side of each unit and release the water. Please note that the area may be saturated with water. We recommend you divert the water away from the setup site. You might consider using a drainage pump to expedite the process.

  • Ensure there is complete drainage from the barrier buy rolling the barrier on opposite sides of the drainage port.  Then, unfurl and allow the barrier to air dry in an open position.

  • Yes, the Guppy MAX is designed to be reusable. With proper care and maintenance, it can be deployed multiple times. Ensure it is thoroughly dried, inspected for any damage, and stored out of the sunlight, to maintain its longevity and effectiveness.

  • The flood barrier is designed to be filled with water to work effectively. The weight of the water filled in the unit ballasts itself to the ground to provide a strong flood defense.

  • Yes, the Guppy MAX can be deployed on uneven surfaces, but it’s important to ensure that the area is free of sharp objects or obstacles that could puncture the barrier. Note that less even ground provides more of an opportunity for water to leak underneath the barrier. The flatter the surface, the better the protection offered.

  • The Guppy MAX holds 2,115 gallons of water.

  • The weight when filled is approximately 17,639lbs.

  • No, the weight is over 17,000 lbs. once filled and will be very heavy.  Ensure the placement of the barrier when unfolding the unit.

  • Each unit is 30ft long.

  • It is 40” high and we recommend Guppy Max for damming to within 2-5 inches from the top.

  • The fill and drainage inlets should face inside - on the non-water side of the barrier.

  • You can use a fire hydrant to fill the tubes. This is a commercial grade product. The Guppy MAX utilizes a standard 2.5" standard US firehose connection. To fill sections, you can use a gas powered pump, pulling from a water source such as a lake, river or pond. You can also use water from a hydrant, commercial water source or a water truck.

  • Guppy Max is designed to be used in a straight run, however you can abut sections against each other to create a 90 degree turn. We recommend installing the Guppy Max over a thick visqueen polyethylene sheeting or waterproof tarp that can be wrapped over the two abutted sections. The tarp of visqueen should be weighted into place on the backside of the barrier, by a few strategically placed sandbags, creating a seal to prevent leakage.
